An 86-year-old Rapid City man and convicted sex offender was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday for asking a 5-year-old boy to touch his genitals in the steam room at the Roosevelt Swim Center in Rapid City on Nov. 11, 2022.
Dallas Krausch entered an Alford plea to sexual exploitation of a minor and loitering within a community safety zone or public area. An Alford plea is a defendant’s acknowledgement that the state has enough evidence to convict while still maintaining their innocence.
Alford plea? What the hell is that?
An Alford plea allows a defendant to plead guilty and accept a plea bargain even if they claim they are innocent.
An Alford plea is based on a voluntary and intelligent choice to avoid a harsher criminal sentence.
Not all states allow Alford pleas, but it may still be possible to plead guilty or no contest in exchange for a lesser sentence.

Both charges are class 6 felonies with a maximum sentence of two years in prison and up to a $4,000 fine. In exchange for the plea, the state dropped a charge of solicitation of a minor, which carried a maximum of up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
Thomas noted Krausch’s criminal history, which included sexual crimes dating back to the 1970s. At the time of the public pool incident, he was on the South Dakota sex offender registry for a 1986 conviction for sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl.

When he was initially confronted by staff at the pool, Krausch denied ever being in the steam room. He then admitted to being there, but said the situation was a misunderstanding.
Thomas said Krausch also claimed the father recognized him as a sex offender and conspired with his son to make up the story.
“I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Krausch said in court.
“I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It wasn’t my fault.”

Andrews asked the court to sentence Krausch to two years suspended and place him on probation with home confinement and electronic monitoring so he can get the medical care he needs while still meeting the goal of community safety.

Gusinsky sentenced Krausch to the maximum of two years on each count but ran the sentences concurrent to each other.
“The warning signs are all over his record, and I’m convinced he’ll do it again,” Gusinsky said.
The race traitor judge is convinced Krausch will do it again and therefore sentenced Krausch to concurrent sentences so he can get back out there and do it again sooner.
Currently, state law allows sex offenders into community safety zones such as a public pool or park, but they can’t loiter there.
The state definition of loitering is “to remain for a period of time and under circumstances that a reasonable person would determine is for the primary purpose of observing or contacting minors.”
As an example of loitering, Landeen said Krausch was kicked out of the library decades ago because he was consistently eating his lunch in the children’s section and not checking out any books.
He said staff at the pool were aware of Krausch’s status and he was being watched.
“They tried to observe and keep an eye on him and what he was doing, but the reality is, people like that are looking for opportunities,” Landeen said.

A North Carolina high school volleyball player said she suffered significant and long-term physical and mental injuries last fall when she was spiked in the face by a transgender athlete who was able to compete on a girls’ team because of a policy put in place by the state’s high school athletic association.

Allison Schardin is a Blaine, Minnesota, married mother of two who is accused of sexually abusing two 15-year-old boys she met in a hotel hot tub while on a “staycation” with her husband and kids, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
The two boys, age 15, had traveled to Roseville, Minnesota, from Colorado to play in a hockey tournament when they met Schardin, 38, a restaurant server who is an opera singer, the newspaper reported.
Minnesota court records reveal that her husband, Anthony Schardin, filed for divorce against Allison Leigh Schardin on December 18, 2023. She was on a “staycation” with her husband and kids when prosecutors say she had sexual contact with the boys on January 14, the Star-Tribune reported. It’s not clear why they went on a staycation together with an active divorce filing.
Either get a divorce or don’t. Do not file for a divorce then play house with the bitch.
She “asked the boys their ages and told them they were young enough to be her kids. She then had sexual contact with two of the boys,” the Pioneer Press reported of the charges.
“The two boys said they felt pressured and eventually told her she had to leave,” The Pioneer Press reported, adding that she “later showed up at one of their hockey games.”

In 2022, Schardin was accused of drunk driving, according to Minnesota court records. She received a stayed jail sentence and probation term in that case.

Ashlyn Harvey is a former substitute teacher in Gunnison, Utah, who is accused of having sexual contact with a teenage boy in her husband’s car.
A police booking affidavit obtained by KSL.com gave details of the police accusations against Harvey.
Mid Utah Radio gave the former sub’s full name as Ashlyn Amy Harvey, 34. The teen was 17.
According to KSL, Harvey denied having sexual contact with the boy but said she went on “long drives” with him and that he was at her home.

However, police said in the affidavit that she didn’t stop “but instead coached him on how to delete his call logs and phone messages so that his parents would not discover their communications. Her messages became more romantic in nature as time progressed, until she convinced the victim to meet her late at night,” the affidavit says, according to KSL.

According to the radio station, police accused the former substitute teacher of picking the boy up “in her husband’s car,” and then engaging in “inappropriate touching” with him. KSL TV reported that the boy told police this happened at least 10 times, and she also took him to her house.

Heather Hare is a former Conway, Arkansas, high school home economics teacher who is accused of having sex with a juvenile victim during a field trip to Washington D.C., as well as in her classroom and a parking lot at Bryant High School.
According to a news release from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Jonathan D. Ross, Hare, 33, has now admitted to the accusations. She has pleaded guilty to “transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity.”
She is facing between 10 years and life in prison, according to the January 22 news release.
According to The New York Post, Hare was a big news story in 2020 “when she was surprised on ‘Good Morning America’ by students bidding her goodbye as her home economics class was discontinued for distance learning during the pandemic.” Hare is a married mother, The Post reported.

According to the release, the investigation “into Hare revealed that Hare taught Family Consumer Science classes at Bryant High School and met the minor victim on his first day of his senior year. Hare began one-on-one counseling sessions with the minor victim, eventually giving him her personal phone number and primarily communicating with him through Instagram and Snapchat.”

Prosecutors say Hare “later told the minor victim that she had a dream of them having sex and gave him her home address in Conway. The minor victim and Hare had sex approximately 20 to 30 times throughout the 2021-2022 school term, including multiple times at her Conway residence, in her vehicle, and in her classroom and parking lots at Bryant High School.”
That’s at least 2.5 times more than she had sex with her husband that year.

An Ohio social worker was arrested for having sex with a 13-year-old boy she was assigned to counsel, according to police and local reports.
Payton Shires, 24, allegedly admitted to the disturbing behavior during a call with the boy’s mother and detectives from the Columbus Police Department, according to reports.

The California woman who was convicted of killing her boyfriend by stabbing him 108 times during a “cannabis-induced psychosis” received a slap on the wrist Tuesday.
Bryn Spejcher, 33, was sentenced to two years’ probation and was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service after being found guilty of killing her new boyfriend, Chad O’Melia, according to the Ventura County Star.
Ventura County Superior Court Judge David Worley ruled that Spejcher “had no control over her actions” when she entered into a psychotic episode and stabbed O’Melia, 26, repeatedly in his Thousand Oaks apartment on May 28, 2018.
Experts for the prosecution and defense both found that the marijuana bong hit given to Spejcher threw the woman into the deadly psychotic episode.
“From that point forward, she had no control over her actions,” Worley said, according to the outlet.
