No need for you to feel “scientifically challenged” anymore; there’s an App for nearly everything now. It appears that one of the easiest ways to become a “scientist” (concerned or not, my personal view) is to join the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS). That group has already millions of members (so it claims) and you are most welcome to join. No experience or other credentials required—if anything, just a few dollars from your wallet.
Really; I’m not kidding. The UCS is just one of several so-called “widely recognized scientific bodies” that pretend to know what’s good for you and everyone else on earth. And it’s so easy to join and to become another one of their many “scientists,” concerned or not. You can endorse any of their many campaigns by adding your name, address and contact (email) information, and (may also add) a small donation to support their latest outcry over what is being claimed to ail the world.
Very few people remember The Wall in Berlin. I do, however. I saw it and the contrast between the two sides. It was not economic, it was spiritual. On the West side, there was some hope and joy; on the East side, there was only obedience to the pretense of the group.
Ever since then, I have seen all political questions in terms of The Wall. Does this get us closer to The Wall or farther away from it? — because I want to be as far away from that as possible.
The only comparison I can make is a woman I knew who was raising a retarded child. The ‘tard was going to last for twenty or thirty years and then die, never having risen above the intelligence of an eight-year-old. This is why people hate ‘tards: they take all your time, energy and love and cast it into the void.
East Germany was the tard. Every day was an obligation, and everything was fake. Eyes watched behind every pillar and tree. The problem was not that people were not free, but that they were ruled by incompetence and stupidity.
But there is one answer to the scourge of professional activists, and that is to make them responsible for their own actions. You own a multimillion dollar greyhound racing track that is now at risk of closing down? Sue the activists responsible. Their biased actions landed you in this mess. All you have to do is to find some phony documentation that the activists came up with, (which they did – they always do because for them the ends are much more important than the means), and you’ve got a nice little litigation on the cards.
The reason that professional activists are so widespread comes down to two factors. Firstly we have the social and financial conditions where they don’t need to go out and get a job in order to survive. Secondly, and as I’ve already said, they are not responsible for their own actions. We can’t change the first one, (well we can but it would have a detrimental effect on us as well), but we can change the second one. The greyhound industry have it wrong. They shouldn’t just be going after the NSW State government. They should be going after the activists as well.
They misunderstood the rise of Islam. The Left thought that they could use it to further their own aims like any other tool which they had commandeered up to that time. We can easily pinpoint the moment in which the Left collectively rolled over for Islam – 1989, and the Satanic Verses Controversy. Rushdie was abandoned by the Left, politicians, and the Western media. It was the beginning of Western capitulation which is reaching its natural end-game now. The Nice attack yesterday is merely another step on that journey.
One of the few Westerners to stand up for Rushdie and recognize the long-term dangers of what had occurred was Christopher Hitchens. A fearless warrior of the Left, the event caused him to re-examine his allegiances and he ultimately broke with the Left as a result. Helping to popularize the term, Islamofacism, Hitchens wrote continuously of its dangers to the West until his death.
If it had not been for the rise of Islam in the last 30 years then the progressive Left may well have won their long-term culture war. But bombings, shootings, decapitations, airplanes, and trucks all tend to send a clear message that no amount of safe-spaces and ridiculous candlelight vigils for the victims can effectively counter. To whit, the Left hitched their wagon to the wrong truck. They thought that they could use Islam to help their cause. Instead, Islam will help destroy it.
There is no excuse to want to change any behavior of a person that you marry. You wanted to marry them, right? If your spouse decides that they want to change their behavior, well that’s up to them. And as for trying to make them see things your own way, that is loser-ville with a fast ticket. They don’t like you leaving dishes by the sink? Point out to them where the door is located.
. . . . .
Feel free to throw up in your own mouth right now.
Repeat after me – you never listen to what women say, you only observe what they do.
In this case he got divorced over a simple shit test. He hasn’t learned from his experience and he will repeat the same mistakes again and again. This is why it’s so hard for Betas to break out of their internal bondage and servitude.
And remember kiddies, always marry an adult.
When you start demanding that the authorities dictate which costumes you can wear while screaming in outrage at anyone who suggests that you might be old enough to dress yourselves, you don’t want freedom, you want mommy.
That’s why I call this the rise of Mommy Law, a legal philosophy in which the government’s proper role is no longer to mediate between equals, but to defend the helpless–blacks, women, LGBTQIAs, Muslims, etc.–from their oppressors. It is implicit, under Mommy Law, that these groups have no agency of their own and could not take care of themselves without the government’s help.
Thus, for example, it is now seen as the proper role of law to award millions in damages to gay couples just because someone objected, on religious grounds, to baking them a wedding cake. Likewise, the government has decided it is inappropriate to investigate the Orlando shooter’s Islamic ties, because that would disproportionately impact Muslims.
Let’s be clear – equality is simply another word for communism. As Milton Friedman wrote, “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.” Equality is one of the favored rallying cries for SJW progressive luvvie lunatics everywhere. They’re not happy with the possibility of a high degree of equality as a result of freedom. They want 100% equality and they want it now.
So anyone who spouts off about equality has immediately given themselves away. Other giveaways include, “diversity” and “multiculturalism” with the phrase, “is our strength” attached after all three of these.
Modern feminism is primarily concerned with the destruction of the traditional family. They’ve been hard at it since 1968. Any group of freaks or the mentally ill are prime candidates to be swept up so as to be given “rights” at the expense of broader society and its stability through the family. Feminists hate men. Their favored rallying cry is of course misogyny, but as SJWs always project it is a simple step to work out who has the problem with hatred here.
Finally a reminder that women can do anything. Except not get worthless degrees. Except not get pregnant (her body, her choice). Except be successful without help from government. This is yet another story of a woman making a lifetime of stupid choices and being unable to figure out why her life sucks.
Bubenik graduated from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in 2013, but despite years of desperate searches and all-or-nothing gambles, she has not been able to land a residency, making her degree worthless.
Well, actually, less than worthless. It’s put her about $350,000 in the hole and shattered her already-bad credit scores. The 40-year-old mother of two recently moved her family in with her adult daughter in Happy Valley — homeless and out of options.
“Sara’s story feels unique and feels particularly unfortunate,” says Dr. Leah Werner, a former classmate currently practicing in Portland. “She was somebody who — if given the right support and given the right resources from the (OHSU) School of Medicine — would have succeeded.”
