TGO refutes the accusations of a Greasy Pole Denier. We are accused of making up numbers. This should be against the law.
Adam watches Office Space. The internet at work. Work with the internet.
Then we talk about AI and people being forced to use it to keep their jobs. Much as people were forced to get WuVaxxed to keep their jobs.

We are witnessing the most spectacular act of corporate vandalism in human history. Silicon Valley—that parasitic growth on California’s coast that masquerades as innovation while strip-mining human connection for venture capital—has finally revealed its ultimate product: the systematic replacement of human intimacy with algorithmically optimized masturbation assistance.
The mask has slipped completely now. These are not the brilliant disruptors they claim to be. They are digital drug dealers who spent twenty years destroying the social fabric that held communities together, then pivoted to selling us the synthetic heroin of artificial companionship to numb the pain of the isolation they created. They are the arsonists selling fire insurance, the tobacco companies hawking lung cancer cures, the weapons dealers funding both sides of the war they started.

Last year, Reddit permanently banned r/GoonCaves, a community dedicated to showcasing elaborate “masturbation setups” featuring multiple screens, mood lighting, and extreme porn consumption rituals with “gooning” being slang for extended, ritualistic masturbation sessions. The ban came after violations related to sharing “non-consensual intimate media”—essentially, users wouldn’t stop sharing nude photos of each other without permission.
It’s ok to make fun of the goon caves—a term describing elaborate personal spaces designed specifically for extended masturbation sessions, often featuring multiple monitors displaying pornography. They represented the absolute nadir of human dignity, the point where a person has given up so completely on human connection that they’ve built shrines to their own sexual despair.
I’m not sure how talking to an AI for hours daily, or endlessly scrolling social media feeds increasingly bloated with chatbots, or AI-filtering ourselves and our loved ones is meaningfully different from gooning. And I really don’t see how building sexbots explicitly designed to replace intimacy for “lonely people”—which will live inside your house and know your every weakness—is anything other than a far more extreme and dystopian version of gooning than anything the original gooners ever produced.
The goon caves were amateur hour. Silicon Valley has built professional-grade isolation chambers and convinced us to call them innovation.

Vaccines given via dental floss could one day allow people to immunize themselves from COVID in the comfort of their own homes without having to use needles.
This is the finding of North Carolina (NC) State University researchers who have demonstrated the new delivery method in an animal model—introducing a flu vaccine via the tissue between the teeth and gums.
The novel approach has potential for broad application, the team says.
“We expect the approach to work with COVID vaccine that uses mRNA, hepatitis and tetanus since they use subunit proteins as antigens, and other vaccines that use inactivated or attenuated viruses as antigens (such as MMR vaccine),” paper author and NC State nanomedicine professor Harvinder Singh Gill told Newsweek.
“In essence through proper formulation of the coating, the approach should work with any vaccine.”

Researchers have demonstrated a novel vaccine delivery method in an animal model, using dental floss to introduce vaccine via the tissue between the teeth and gums. The testing found that the new technique stimulates the production of antibodies in mucosal surfaces, such as the lining of the nose and lungs.
“Mucosal surfaces are important, because they are a source of entry for pathogens, such as influenza and COVID,” says Harvinder Singh Gill, corresponding author of a paper on the work. “However, if a vaccine is given by injection, antibodies are primarily produced in the bloodstream throughout the body, and relatively few antibodies are produced on mucosal surfaces.
“But we know that when a vaccine is given via the mucosal surface, antibodies are stimulated not only in the bloodstream, but also on mucosal surfaces,” says Gill, who is the Ronald B. and Cynthia J. McNeill Term Professor in Nanomedicine at North Carolina State University. “This improves the body’s ability to prevent infection, because there is an additional line of antibody defense before a pathogen enters the body.”

A side note: I talked about photographers subscribing to Adobe products to edit their photos. Apparently now Adobe has added to their user agreement that you consent to allow Adobe to use your photography to train it’s AIs. I don’t know how long this has been in effect. I do know that a non-zero number of people have stopped using Adobe because of this.
Photographers are paying a monthly subscription to Adobe so Adobe can train it’s computer software to replace photographers using the photographs of the people paying the subscription.

Yeah, I’m almost 50, no kids, cheating exes, and I think sometimes “No heirs, who cares?” The people who’ll be leaving this mess to their kids don’t seem to care.
